2x/15=3y ??

Math.
I hate math. I am registered for the CBEST tomorrow, a test all teachers in the state of California must pass in order to begin a teaching credential program. I'm in the middle of all of my applications when I realize this fact. Unfortunately one of the three sections gives me goosebumps all over. The same fear that people have of being murdered in a Saw 2-esque fashion is the same fear I have of math. Math has been forced down my throat since age 4 (I started kindergarten at 4) I've been incapable of escaping since then. I went out of my way to pick a major in college that had little (nothing) to do with Math. So when I went through the practice exam section titled "math" I freaked! I haven't looked at a fraction in years, I amterrible at figuring out percentages without my iphone calculator. Guess what? Can't bring my iphone calculator. So how am I getting around this mess?

Rescheduling the exam.

And Now, I am over the heat!

I was thrilled a few days ago for the summer sun and warmth. I didn't take into account that I would be spending a few days at my parents house, which doesn't have that same cool breeze as my cozy little beach bungalow. The air in their house is thick and hot, fans run rampant and the always broken air-conditioner offers no comfort. The dogs keep hiding under furniture trying to find a cooler place to take their afternoon siesta. Finding no comfort, they continue to stare longingly at their prey (squirrels) running through the yard, with no energy to chase them back up the tree where they belong. June Gloom, I hated you, but July Fry I may hate you more!

Bring on the Heat

I love warm weather! What is the point of living in Southern California without having a wonderful warm summer by the beach? As of late, Hermosa Beach has seen little of that wonderful SoCal weather, but the last few days have been spectacular. We have warm 80 degree weather with warm beaches! I've been taking every opportunity to be outside (save this blog) Working in the garden, running with Ridley and hanging out at the beach! Wearing plenty of spf and my swimsuit and loving my Tommy Bahama Beach chair that has a cooler inside! Yeah for Summer!

new computer; new writing

I haven't realized how difficult it has been to write without a computer! What happened to the old fashioned tradition of writing letters, or keeping a hand-written diary? It's silly that I am incapable of writing/releasing without the keyboard. I wont deny that I much prefer to write on a computer, my hands can keep up with my mind. When I physically take out a pen and write it is not legible, it looks like a second grader without knowledge of correct cursive, crashed into a piece of paper and a pen. Who let me continue to make such crimes against penmanship all the way through college? How did I manage to fill out those blue-books in college, and actually receive decent grades? I can't say that this epiphany will bring me to actually studying or working towards more legible writing, however I did wake up twice in the last few weeks and physically write down my always unusual (and sometimes frightening) dreams. I wonder if I can actually make out what the say? Here's to new computers and the ability to express myself, through typing

Working Girl

It's always nice to take some time to really focus on yourself and what is best for you. A night of doing things that you personally enjoy really offers clarity into your own life and what motivates you. I'm vowing to spend more time focusing on the things I enjoy and to spend more time focusing on my successes, rather then focusing on the success of everybody surrounding me.
